I found this repurposed gem at a garage sale. Originally, it was the based of an entertainment armoire. When the upper armoire cabinet was removed, it revealed a large hole in the base.
The person I bought it from took the top off the armoire cabinet and attached it to the base to cover up the hole. Looking closely, you can see this extra layer.
When refinishing with paint, glaze and distressing, I decided two colors were better than one. Initially primed white, the top and drawer fronts were then painted Sea Blue. The sides and bases were painted Off White.
Black Glaze was used to accent the piece, and distressing revealed the white primer and original wood tones. The original pulls were reused.
Repurposed and refinished, the new colors gave the piece a whole new look as it’s character came alive. The low chest became a prime candidate for a flat screen TV or a creative storage piece.
