End Table

  • Turqouise & White End TableCharming distressed Antiqued White and Turquoise end table with heavy Tea-Stained Glaze.

The top shelf is bolted to the bottom, so I took them apart and was able to cleanly paint each different colors.  I’ve found that with back and underside areas, if a part of the furniture can be removed and reattached, the job is much easier done.  With this piece, even with the distressed and shabby chic look, I like how taking it apart resulted in clean color seams between the sides and bottom surface.

  • In our recent series titled Nine Needing a New Look, we’ve seen what can happen when great paint colors transform dated and even ugly furniture.  To take a look back at the five pieces that have been upcycled so far, go here.
Soon after the first post of this series, Susan emailed me and requested to have the top middle maple end table custom painted.  She hand picked her paint color from Lowe’s, and chose Valspar “Imperial Yellow.”  Susan’s table selection is now featured as the sixth in this series.
I’ve never painted furniture such a bright yellow, and have to admit I was a bit sceptical.  After distressing and applying tea-stained glaze to it, I was sold!
Susan chose distressed yellow with tea-stained glaze to create a statement piece.  I think she chose well, and look forward to painting another end table this cheery color.

  • This past weekend, I realized I had this great collection of end tables and night stands needing a new look.  I pulled them all together for this photo, and will feature them individually as each receives a facelift.  Two are already complete, and are found below…

  • Yesterday, I scored–yes that’s how I see it–these three obnoxiously large and dated coffee and end tables.  I am so pumped to see what will come of these solid, scalloped-edged tables with the flowery carvings.  I mean seriously, could you be starting with something more ugly?  And to have the coffee table, hexagon and square end table all match?  Way cool!!
They would look funky in turquoise, would rock in red, but I’m thinking antiqued white and shabby chic would do them great.  I would love to hear what colors you would like to see them in…and any other ideas you might have!  Please comment here or on our Facebook page.  See below for a great look at all the detail…

  • SOLD: This white distressed end table celebrates chunkiness with gusto! Tea-stained glaze creates a antiqued white look with lots of character–and some real charm! 28″ long, 21″ wide, and 20″ tall. Includes original hardware–a rare find for a retro pull indeed!
