Chest in Distressed Barn Red & Black Glaze – Before & After

From blah to a big splash of color! This chest was given a new life in Barn Red and Black Glaze - Before & After from Facelift FurnitureThis chest with four drawers was in great need of a makeover. Spray painted white, it was drab and not looking so great. A top notch candidate for paint, glaze and distressing!

The chest was refinished in Barn Red, with Black Glaze accenting the detail and wood grain. With this new look, the piece took on a new life!

Distressing revealed both white and the original wood tones, adding an extra pop of character. Four vintage pulls were spray painted black and used to tie off the new look.

Rustic Organ Bench in Robin’s Egg Blue

Robins Egg Bench Before & AfterI found this old organ bench at a thrift store, knowing it had a lot of potential for an upstyled look.

I painted, glazed, and distressed it in Robin’s Egg Blue, with Black Glaze highlighting the wear on the original finish.  I did this by scuff sanding the piece to remove loose finish.  The rest was left on for the glaze to highlight. Along with the distressing, the heavy glaze created a rustic look.
